Here I am

Night fell
Dark surrounds
All is well
Silence astounds

Grass moves
Night crawlers
Out of view
Creatures smaller

Cars pass
Headlights bright
Burning gas
Cruising tonight

Cold air
Settling around
Take care
Going inside now

मौजूदगी ही काफी है
तुम्हारी मेरे हयात में,
सुनो न! ओ मख़मली
छुअन वाली,,,
सुना है, सूरत का तिलिस्म
मदहोश किये हैं सब को
और फिर सीरत के तो क्या कहने,
सुना है, अल्फ़ाज़ों के जादू टोने
भी करती हो,
तो फिर आज,,
बिखेर दो तो अपनी इंद्रधनुष के सात
रंगों में से, वो एक रंग
कर दो न एक ऐसी ग़ज़ल भी तहरीर
कि, जिससे तुम मेरे जज़्बात समझ लो!

tab andar kuch toot jaata hai khali ho jata hai bilkul;
kuch log itna toot kar pyaar kar lete hai ki,
khud hi toot jaate hai…!

As if I'm loosing something......
Like as there was nothing....
As something is departing from my hand....
And left gifting me trails of the memorable moments........
Moments of happiness.....
So, there is no any melancholy....

Departing away from me...

अब इश्क़ नहीं हो रहा है,
बस बदनाम ही रहे है,
माचिस के ख़ाली ख़ाके जैसे है, फिर भी तिल्लियों को जलाने जैसे निशान बड़े है,
चिकनी मिट्टी से बना, मंद आँच पर सिका,
पानी तो शीतल करने का संचार बना है,
समंदर से डाल कर कुछ बूँदे मुझे सताते हो,
मटके को भी खारा करके, खुद के मन में मीठें-शीतल जल के भाव जगाते हो
अब इश्क़ नहीं हो रहाँ है,
बस यूहीं सरेआम हो रहे है,
कही थोड़े कम, कही थोड़े ज़्यादा
बस बदनाम हो रहे है,

अंधेरी रात में दीया क्यों नहीं साथ रखते हो,
जब एड़ी में चोट है तो लाठी क्यों नहीं अपने पास रखते हो,
मैं पथ पर गड्डा। ही तुम्हारी देन हुआ हूँ,
और जब गिरते हो तो अंधेरे तो नष्ट करने की बात करते हो,
वो नभ संचार है इसका, वो नवीन किरणों से वसुंधरा को सींचता है,
खुद के सिर में मोजूद अनगिनत लीख है,
और सूरज को झुलसाने की ग़नीमत दे रहा है,
अब इश्क़ नहीं हो रहाँ है,
बस बदनाम हो रहे है,
लोगो की नज़रों में कुछ निकम्मे और बुद्धि से तमाम् हो रहें है।
