तुम मंजर ना पूछो यारों बस वो बरसती गईं
मैं वर्षा के बाद गीली ज़मीं सा महकता रहा
कल रात जो उसकी जुल्फों के साथ गुजारी
आज में पूरे दिन खुशबुओं सा महकता रहा

उस मासूम के होंठ काँप रहे थे
पर गुब्बारे फुलाने को वो बेकरार था

शायद वो खुद भी ये भूल गया था
आज सुबह से उसको तेज़ बुखार था

मैं तो मस्ती में यूँ ही घूम रहा था
आज छुट्टी है अपनी दिन इतवार था

उसे फ़िक्र थी शाम की रोटी की शायद
इस लिये उसपे कमाने का भूत सवार था

ख़ुशी पैसों पे नहीं परिस्थितियों पर निर्भर करती है
एक बच्चा गुब्बारा ख़रीद कर ख़ुश था
दूसरा उसे बेच कर
तीसरा उसे फोड़कर

ख़ुशियों का गुब्बारा मेरा
एक छेद से जैसे फूट गया,
एक ग़म के आगे सारी खुशियों
को मैं जैसे भूल गया।
