On a stroll in wilderness was
she too awake
In loneliness so late at night..

शहर के...एक पहर का...हर जाम उसके दिल से है
मेरा दिल कहने को....सिर्फ मेरा है
दिल की...एक धड़कन का....हर मकाम उसके दिल से है!!

When all others are in the lap of cozy deep sleep in the mid nights
we find our lonely dejected sentiments roaming here and there in fright
We yearn for those who were lost Separated from us in the pretext of social norms and strict bonds of religions by scavangers of society
Vultures of cultures with their might

Kal raat aagyi wo sare aam khwab me,

जो मिलन हक़ीक़त में हैं अधूरे
वो बस ख़्यालों में ही होते हैं पूरे
ख़्यालों की दुनिया में सब ख़ुशी से मिलते हैं
हर हाल में सब होते राज़ी क्या तेरे क्या मेरे
न वहाँ किसी से इजाज़त की कोई ज़रूरत
न ही होते हैं वहाँ किसी से कोई अग्नि-फेरे
इन अंधेरी लम्बी वीरान "अकेली रातों" में
सहारा है बस इन ख़्यालों का तेरे और मेरे

मच्छरों ने आज हमको एक महान ज्ञान सिखलाया,
एक हाथ से नहीं बजती ताली,
आज पहली बार समझ आया।
हम चार जन थे एक गहरी सोच में डूबे हुए
गंभीर था मुद्द़ा, जिस पर हमें समझ नहीं कुछ आया।
तभी मैंने देखा,
कि मच्छरों के झुंड ने हममें से एक जनाब को आ घेरा।
उन जनाब को देखकर हमें भी उन पर तरस आया,
खूब कोशिश की हमने भी मच्छरों को भगाने की,
पर मच्छरों का वो झुंड बाज नहीं आया।
हार कर हम भी उन जनाब से पूछ ही बैठे
कि भई,इन मच्छरों को आप पर इतना प्यार कैसे आया?
जनाब बोले,कि भई झूठ कुछ नहीं
बस सात दिन बीते हैं, अभी तक नहीं नहाया।
तभी एक ने फ़रमाया,
केवल मच्छरों को मत दो गाली, एक हाथ से नहीं बजती ताली।
तब कहीं हमें ये मुहावरा, आज समझ आया।
