अदरक को कुट कर.. दिया उसमें डाल
पत्ती ने भी कर दिया रंग लाल
शरबत तो ठैरी जैसे अपनी जान
दूध ने दिखाया फिर अपना कमाल
धर गिलास में उसे अपने
फिर दिखाई मैंने अपनी पहाड़ी शान....-

मेरे अंदर उसकी ऐसी लगन हुई।
धीरे धीरे मुझ में, नुमद-ए-सुख़न हुई।।
मिलती थी मुस्कुरा के, हर बशर से वो,
ये देख मेरे अंदर, कुछ तो चुभन हुई।
कमसिन कली सी थी वो, नज़ाकत भरी हुई,
अब धीरे धीरे क़ातिल, शो'ला बदन हुई।
फिर दिल पे मेरे उसने , ऐसी ज़र्ब दी,
दिल का क़तल हुआ, मोहब्बत दफ़न हुई।
इतना कुछ हुआ भी, लेकिन न कुछ हुआ,
क़िस्सा-ए-इश्क़-ए-अख़्तर, दार-ओ-रसन हुई।-
