These are restless times
Brewing just below, the thin crust
keeps popping bubbles, hot
smoke rises through.
We pace in our spaces, raising
our feet hopping to fly away.
Away, anywhere; but not here.
But there are shackles
Unseen, unheard. They hang
from all the limbs, weighing
like invisible heart ache.
