A Ghazal for the Cat Who Knows

She doesn’t come when called,
yet always near—
A quiet presence,
endlessly clear.

When all else faded,
she stayed in the light,
A hush in the storm,
the soul’s frontier.

No grand affection,
no loud embrace,
Just warmth at my feet,
drawing me near.

She never spoke,
yet healed what she knew,
Her gaze alone could still all fear.

They say she’s a cat—I say she’s more:
A gentle ruler of heart and tear.

Not stirred by spoon,
nor sold in jars,
They come like bees
from distant stars—
Friends.
Not gathered quick, but slow and true,
In quiet combs of all we’ve been through.

They don’t rush sweet like sugared art,
But settle warm in the aching heart.
A drop of trust, thick with time—
Dripping gold, in silence, sublime.

So when the world feels bitter and dry,
I taste their words and softly sigh—
This sweetness?
It’s not made.
It’s found.
Like wild honey in sacred ground.

Its affection

Each pulse, each story,
each silent tear,
Builds the pride
I hold so dear.
You trust, you hope,

Oh! What an awful love,
It's a deeply shallow affection,
An orderly chaotic emotional gush,
Transforming you a sanely insane.

Oh! What a hateful love,
Its absence is always present,
Fully in an empty mind,
Burning like flames of cold fire.

Oh! What an indifferent love,
Comes to you when unexpected,
Leaves you when it's actually wanted,
Making you a victim of normal abnormality.

In love, it feels as bright blind heaven.
Out of love, it's always dark visible hell.
