Behind the Covers of Night

I learned to cope.
Behind the covers of my bed during the dead of night,
Behind the tears that never see the blessing of daylight,
Behind the locked doors of my heart, with the key forever residing with me.

I learned that the one I love, will never fill the holes that thoughts of death left within my soul.
I learned that no matter how hard I try, I will never be her. Unfortunately I'm not the one you desire. I can't be that girl you were willing to throw away your life for a chance to just once, hold her.
I know I may not be capable enough to take care of you, so why are you wasting your time?
Just leave me to crumble and perish with the wind, because you will never be mine.

But all I ask for, all I will ever need, is the poetry that you bleed into my pen. For it breathes life into my shattered soul once again.

And, everyday my dream is spoiled
by innocent bloods !

Coz I've nowhere to look for you,
That love I lost !
I may not be a Shah Jahan,
But, before I perish,
I'd build up a Taj Mahal with words
to immortalize your memory !
