They are not the highest earners, they don't do rigorous physical labor, and they don't get themselves killed. They are respected because they are a step towards the evolution of knowledge, the bridge between being born into mud and understanding the universe. Civilization was created by structuring people's understanding of life and the world around them. And that's what gurus do. For me, this is the definition of a teacher."

I have merely paused,
within these branches lurking
is a consciousness aware,
of the timorous twilight
shivering in the shimmering serein,
whispering softly
as a lover's dream -
the grey will seep soon
into baby breath blue,
I await your
scintillating nurturing hues.

Blue to the grey
And getting greyer everyday
As colours black falls on it
Smearing the grey
Shades across the skies
Standing out yet crazily unaware
Not that it wants to know
Just falling into this transition
Of changing colours unconsciously
Yet it knows it's changing
It can feel it too...on its tongue
That black bitter taste

घर की बालकनी में बैठा जब देखता हूं सामने पहाड़ों को,
सोचता हूं तब कितनी मुश्किल होती होगी उन्हें खड़ा रहने में,
कितनी मुश्किल होती होगी उन्हें बर्फ से लद जाने में,
कितनी मुश्किल होती होगी उन्हें इस ठंड में बर्फीली हवाओं के छूने से,
कितनी मुश्किल होती होगी उन्हें इस अकेलेपन में,इस वीरानेपन में,
सोचता हूं क्या इतना आसान है उनका यह सफर,
गर्मी आते ही बर्फ का जुदा हो जाना और देह का इस तरह से निर्वस्त्र हो जाना,
क्या इतना आसान है इस सादगी से जी पाना।

તું વાતો ઘણી સારી કરે છે
સારી નહિ ફક્ત તારી કરું છું
તું શાયરી પણ સરસ લખે છે
આ સમી સાંજે તારું મારી રાહ જોવી
તારા વિશે લખું એટલે
સમાન્ય પણ સરસ થઈ જાય છે
મને ડર લાગે છે કે
હું ક્યાંક તને હા ન કહી દઉં '
હા કહેવાની ક્યાં હવે જરૂર છે
તારી ઊંડી અણીયાળી આંખની અણી
આરપાર ઉતરી જ ગઈ છે હદયની "
