A swollen eye And a thought What do people with scarred faces Usually do? Be it a sports injury Or a bruise of domestic violence Be it a scar by birth Or an accidental wound on the road Injuries are similar No matter whether temporary or permanent For injuries are memories That people live long with A temporary scar may scar the moment Or a day or two But a permanent mark marks the life Life in each moment as we go For people judge us with these scars For the world sees us with these marks Assuming things here and there Or marking enough around our character By birth scars are often despised In the name of devil or a curse For people fear these scars as nightmares Like as if they are only ours and not theirs These scars are a part of our beautiful body But we are more than just a scar Scars may be in our stars tonight But our souls are scar free forever
I used to cry over my physical injuries when I was a child. Now, getting such external wounds don't hurt anymore, because nothing can be more excruciating than carrying the burden of a bleeding heart.
