ये नसें काटना कलम को लहू में डुबो लेना
ऐसी बेख़ौफ़ बग़ावत क्यों लिखता है तू

The owners may have been cut off
but the ownership hasn't vanished,
The enslavers may have long gone
but slavery hasn't perished...
It's become an interesting pass time
the game of blaming & bargain,
You play it either way, both when you
question and when you blindly obey!
We may have holes in the system,
and for this we blame the rulers.
But we forget what we claim,
democracy is for, of and by the ruled...
It is not the rulers' pain,
it's us, the people who proclaim,
So who is to be censured
when it's we who act as the measure?
