किसी कवि/लेखक की रचनाओं को पढ़कर हमारे मन में उसकी एक छवि बन जाती है कि ये असल जिंदगी में भी शायद ऐसे ही होंगे। जैसे यदि कुछ लोग श्रृंगारिक रचनाएँ करते हैं अथवा प्रेम कहानियां लिखते हैं तो हम सोचते हैं कि ये असल जिंदगी में भी इतने ही रोमांटिक होंगे। यदि समाजिक समस्याओं को लेकर लिखते हैं तो हम सोचते हैं कि ये समाज को लेकर ऐसे ही गम्भीर रहते होंगे।
अब यहाँ प्रश्न उठता है कि क्या एक लेखक वास्तव में अपनी रचनाओं की तरह होता है या उसकी रचनाएँ उसके व्यक्तित्व से ताल्लुक़ नहीं रखती?
आपको क्या लगता है किसी कवि/लेखक की रचनाओं से उसका व्यक्तिगत जीवन कितना मेल खाता है?
