as I grew up with my grandparents, I have many fond memories of them. As a couple they used to do almost everything together whether it was visiting relatives or worshipping the deities in home temple. My grandpa had keen interest in gardening. He had his little window garden in his small balcony which had so many precious jewels from the paradise. His garden never dried and it used to be evergreen and full of blossoms. While doing daily rituals for deities my grandma arranged all the things like cooking "naivedyam", bathing and cleaning the gods, creating cotton garlands with vermillion marks etc. My grandpa plucked the flowers for god. Each deity was offered their respective colour or favourite flower. He then cleaned the temple,
chafed the red sandalwood and did all the
further rituals. Together they wholeheartedly
offered their services and faithfully prayed.
It was so much pleasant and satisfying
to see them do this together with their
resplendent faces. Their united faiths
made all the difference. That home was
high on positive and spiritual energies.
