ಮಜ್ಜೆಯಿರದ ಸುಮತಿ

ಗೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಪ್ಪುವೆ ಪಾದಕೆ
ರಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಿರುವೆ ಚರಣಕೆ
ಹೂವಾಗುವೆ ಪದತಲಕೆ
ಮಂಜೀರ ಹಾಕುವೆ ಪಾದಪದ್ಮಕೆ

At nights, the left knee shivered along with the tremorous eyelids, the random shifting of the blankets, the wavy unkempt hair, the exploited green pillows, the chinkling anklets that caressed me with its lullaby, those cold hands that grabbed onto anything soft including my nose, the murmurs and the inaudible whispers you sang and the kung-fu kicks that I welcomed shall never be forgotten.

near the couch's leg, with the dirt.
in one of dresser's drawer,
