Dear Coldplay,
-
I used to write love poems.
When we first met,
When even a simple laugh of mine brought the constellations into his eyes,
Me, an astrounaut exploring all in my reach but never quite making it to the stars that left me speechless.
"Look at the stars look how they shine for you"
In the backdrop of his brown irises,
My stars twinkled everytime we meet.-
Would you judge me if I say I'm not too fond of Coldplay? That most of their songs are just three chords, and as a musician, there is nothing I hear that makes me say wow. I understand why Coldplay works though. The lyrics are easy & relatable. The tunes, hummable. Their videos, ingenious, and frankly, much better than the songs.
When I hear a song, I wait for the unexpected. For the song to deviate from the ups and downs of the mukhda and antra, and instead, turn into a stream which meanders into the unknown and only after a long solo ride, returns to the main river. A song that keeps going up and up without losing its magic. That's the paradise that can fix me. That's the hymn that Coldplay fails to provide me.
I like songs that aren't constructed like terrace farming but are like a forest— haphazard, with enough trees to make you lost. You experience both a relief and a form of bliss when you make your way out of such a forest. And you want to get lost in it again, just so you find a new way out. In one line, I want to hear a music that's literary. Rahman does that, so does Porcupine Tree. The Doors did it, as did Queen. For me, Coldplay needs to do something just like this.-
/Coldplay/
My morning alarm,
and my midnight partner.
My constant companion
through days of sunshine
and nights of heartbreak.
All those lyrics
unique, yet relatable.
It's a bliss to hear something
so real and pure.-
I hope this Diwali lights will guide you home and ignite your bones and I hope you don't ignite any crackers. Don't make your celebration, a punishment for someone else. Eat a lot of food, make the world your runway and rejoice with all your loved ones. I hope this Diwali brings you all the happiness and success in the world. I hope it brings you peace and prosperity and I hope it makes all your dreams come true. Have a safe and a green Diwali.

Coldplay,
This isn't a testimonial because you don't need one.You help me believe in hope, and since there are very few people or groups like you in my life, I feel obliged and thought of saying a big fat Thank you. Every evening when it's too boring too jumbled, too
tough to carry on, I step out, with earphones and my tiny blank head gets pumped with bags full of dreams through my ears. I see magic and life, when hymns of the weekend fill my world with yellow happiness and the Scientist in me gets awaken.Every solo walk that I go on, is empty without the sky full of stars, and paradise. And finally when I return to my room, where the boredom had hit me so hard, I feel relaxed that I just lived a life which was something just like this ❤️.
A fan-
It's cold in here, after you left.
It was colder, when you were staying.-
