ज़िन्दगी तुम बिन अधूरी है
मेरे दिल ओ जान तुम हो।

ज़ीस्त का दार ओ मदार तुमसे
अल्लाह का फरमान तुम हो।

मैं कि दीवानी हूँ तेरी
मुझपे क़ुर्बान तुम हो।

ग़ज़ल लिखने वाले हम
इसके कदरदान तुम हो।

ख़ामोशी का ये ठिकाना हो गया
दिल मेरा मुझसे बेगाना हो गया।

इल्तिजा उनसे हमेशा ये रही
आ भी जा देखे ज़माना हो गया।

इश्क़ में किसने मक़ाम ये पाया
ग़म न कर जो तू दीवाना हो गया।

गर मोहब्बत में चली जाएगी जाँ
ज़ीस्त का रंगी फ़साना हो गया।

शेर एक दो तू भी कह दे "रिया"
ग़ज़ल का सुनना सुनाना हो गया।

My triggers teach me
what needs to be changed.
My awareness illuminates
the path I'm walking.
I can walk on thorns and
still be an Empress.

चाँद की गली में सूरज यूं बुझाने होंगें
रौशनी की ख़ातिर अपने दिल जलाने होंगें
आसाँ न होगा फ़लक से ज़मीं का मिलन
ख़्वाब की ताबीर के लिए अफ़क़ बनाने होंगें
