तुझसे कहने वही तीन शब्द जो तुझे भी पता है,
मेरा दिल यहीं सीने में पर कहीं लापता है,
अब करना चाहे दिल ये बस तुझसे राब्ता है
ये दिल अब तुझसे तुझ ही को माँगता है।

आज तुम्हारा नाम देखा कहीं!
उंगली फेरतीं रही देर तक उनपर,
पढ़ती रही बार बार उसे,
जिस नाम से कभी बुलाया करती थी तुम्हें।
हंसी मज़ाक़ में वो नाम बन गई थी,
जैसे नाम ने खुद चुना था तुम्हें।
शायद जैसे खुदा ने चुना होगा तुम्हे मेरे लिए,
क्या याद आती है वो नाम तुम्हें!
क्या तरसतीं होगी तुम्हारा दिल!
के कभी स्वीकारा था इस नाम को कभी!
चार अक्षर नहीं थे वो बस,
मेरी आत्मा बसी है उनमें।
मैं पुकारा करती हूं उस नाम से तुम्हें आज भी,
कभी बुलाऊंगी तुम्हें उस नाम से,
क्या मुड़कर देखोगे मुझे, पहचान लोगे!
या फांसले इतनी बढ़ गई है दरमियान
तुम्हारे और मेरे!
या तुम बहुत आगे बढ़ चुके होंगे..!
