I undid the lock of Pandora's Box,
enchanted by the siren she was.
Little did I know that my naivete act would unfold,
a string of events cross years to come.

So blinded I was, devoid of clarity and ignorant,
that I never foresaw the forthcoming calamity.
While I happily bathed in this spurious bliss,
the puppet, playing to the master's strings.

Though I came to my senses one day,
late was I to realise that salvation has already sailed afar.
I couldn't save my sanity, so I drowned instead,
in tears, and my world coated with solitude.

Today, I walk the path of redemption alone.
Locked are the memories and the feelings of those days, long gone.

How heart-wrenching it was to see people frantically waving their hands out the windows of the ambulance at other cars to let them pass by.

Apparently the blaring siren was unable to do its job.
