Assumptions kill relationships
I wish you'd never assume.
I wish you'd talk to me, question me.
I wish you'd choose to sort things out
instead of just randomly assuming.

मन थक हार कर ऊब ही जाता है
लोगों से, उनके बहानों से, आदतों से,
बातों से, तानों से, एवं दिखावे से।

In the era of unsaid goodbyes,
I found someone who's always there
to listen to my rants, cribbing
and yet doesn't judge me at any cost.
Seems like I'm lucky here.

अलविदा किया मुस्कुराते हुए हमने उन्हें
जाने की बात से वो इतने खुश हो गए कि
हमारी आंखों की नमी भी उन्हें दिखी ही नहीं।

वो शायद जाने ही आए थे
लेकिन हम उनके रुकने की
आस कुछ यूं दिल में लिए बैठे थे कि
उनका जाना हमें गवारा नहीं।

क्या ग़म उसके जाने का
जो कभी अपना था ही नहीं।

क्या मायूस होना उसके जाने पर
जो कभी रुकने आया ही नहीं।

ठहराव तो नदी में भी नहीं है,
और तुम लोगों से उम्मीद लगा बैठे हो?
