I was a child then,
I flicked a five Rupee note from a relative’s kurta pocket, lying on the bed, who stayed at home. I bought few chocolates for 50 p and returned the change to mom! She wondered as to where I got the money! I told her that it was lying on the floor of living room. This was my first lie! My mom added 50 p and returned the money to relative same day.

My mother told the incident to my eldest brother, who took me to a nearby garden and confronted me to tell the truth but I maintained that I picked it up from floor of living room! Not convinced, my brother started hitting me right and then and I began to cry uncontrollably. Thus this became my last lie too as that beating became a lesson for life.
