To " Medusa "

Thou art not celestial nymph
Among Gorgons only mortal,
Ah, what a rueful fate!
Must be a design-dupe of immortals.

A grotesque or fierce evil!
What should I call thee?
Being cursed by Athena
Possessed by the lord of sea.

A horrid creature thou became
For men to terrify,
And in a glance
Having power to petrify.

Long after the son of Zeus
In obstruce journey of quest ,
With the help of immortals
Beheaded thee in haste.

Art thou die in vain?
With thy hideous head ,
Atlas, Cetus were conquered
And, Perseus became legend.

The Fragility Of Being Human
(Read full piece in caption)

-

I once was adored
and loved by all.
But now I'm broken ,
deformed by love
And the wrath of a godess
Who sent my curse from above.
Cursed to never look
into another's eyes
With fear that I will
leave them petrified.
Cursed to live alone
for all of my days
With no hope of ever
being rectified.

Ideate your dreams
like Medusa's hair,
radiating out
in every direction.
Just don't acquire
her evil nature,
conjure up memories
which lasts forever.

MEDUSA

Look into my eyes...

A woman once synonymous to beauty
Turned to a deity
Of repulse.
A life spent in devotion
Rewarded with wrath.
'Gods' you call them?

My heart of paper
Crushed and torn,
And now it has turned to stone.
Tender love, long disowned
Breeds poison in my locks.

Now its time for you to die,
Behold and petrify,
And I take back what should be mine
Deprived of it so long.

Heroes losing ground each day
for each day you wished for a miracle.
Hardened criminals preach you religion
faith leaping far, off bridges and glass buildings.
Waters rising overhead to drown
the ones who wish for nothing but to
quench their thirst with.
The slow poison rotting living corpses,
oxygen inhaled, without a second thought.
Doomsday is just a synonym then
for a day without chocolates.
Plagues of art offer the illusory straws.
The straws we build a raft with
only to watch it inevitably leak.
Pearly white gates of heaven decorated with
blackened blood from cauterized skin
and bludgeoned guts of glory.
Kneel to the beauty of forever,
like a naked young woman washed ashore
begotten with the fantasies of Medusa
strangling your throat with her dreadlocks.
Feel free to live,
But never live to be free
a nihilist's wet dream, realized.

I did not asked to be like this.
Every second word i speak is hisss.
I was a fair lady of charm.
My fairness is what put me in harm.
On that day the sea was calm.
Sun was bright, wind was warm.
A silhouette appearing on my front.
Behind me there was someone.
He took me by strength on the cold floor.
It was not the worst that i had in store.
I was abandoned even by my gods.
I was punished, the man was not.
My hairs swept away, turned into asp.
My gaze petrifies, before you gasp
My BARE body, is now with scales.
Look me in the eyes, MEDUSA wails.

✨MEDUSA✨

Broken. Raped. Turned into a Monster.
He thought he had destroyed my womanhood
She thought she had cursed me for good
Little did they knew
How strong & powerful I’ve become even more

A fair maiden born to Phorcys and Ceto,
what was your fault,
if Poseidon mutilated you
inside Athena's temple,
Athena, in turn,
cursed you with a head full of venomous snakes,
and made you turn people to stone
whoever met your gaze.
A life full of bitterness you led,
filled with rage you enjoyed tormenting
people who wandered your way,
till one day Perseus cut you down
from your head.
The once fair maiden's head
was now reduced to being a mere trophy
to be gifted to Athena
from Perseus' hand.
