आओ सुनाए उसकी कहानी,
सोने, चांदी से लगाव बड़ा,
हीरे - जवाहारात का अंबार लगा,
दीवारों तक में पैसे गड़वाहे,
कुछ ना खोने की उम्मीद में ताले लगवाए,
जवानी में पैर कहां टिक पाए,
अचानक रात दिल का कहर पड़ा,
बंद हुई नवज़ में बैठ डरा
मर कर भी जान, महल में ही अटकी बंधाई ,
भटकी आत्मा, शोहरत ना छोड़ पाई।।

आसमान में फैले कूड़े से लेकर
उंगलियों के बीच की जगह तक-
सब कुछ बिकता है

बरसों बाद
हम किसी दोस्त से मिलने जाते हैं
और चकित रह जाते हैं
जब घर की जगह
दुकान पाते हैं

क्या सचमुच
इतना कुछ है बेचने के लिये?
