प्रिया घर तो चला रही है
पर उसका मन के घर में अन्धेरा है
चल रहा है घर ....
चलती जा रही घर के हिसाब से
पर वो अब उसी घर की चारदिवारी
में ही सिमट रही है..ऐसे चल रही है
उसके कदम रुकने वाले तो न थे पर
अब क्या उन्हीं बर्तनों की खटखटाहट में
उसके मन का शोर छुप रहा है ...
और ढलते सूरज की तरह ही
उसके आशाओं की लहरे भी
हिचकोले खाकर शांत हो रही है
अब बस खनखनाहट
और खटपट है तो कुछ शोर सी
जिंदगी भी टकटकी लगाए
उसके कल्पनाओ की उमंगों को
जगता हुआ देखना चाहती है
पर जिस बन्धन में बाबू जी ने
उसे बाँध दिखा काश की
बिना वजह सी एक बार
पूछ लेते मुड़ कर पीछे देख लेते
उस आज़ाद पंक्षी के पर
यूँ इस तरह न कतरते

सब कुछ पक जाता है
बस गृहिणी का
सम्मान नहीं पकता

वह राख हो ही जाता है

क्योकि वो ही ऑफिस जैसा घर,
बॉस जैसे दादी दादी,
और ऑफिस वर्क जैसा घर का काम करती है।

हाँ, वो सीख रही थी,
अपना घर... चलाना,
और खुद...घर की मर्जी से चलना,
हाँ नहीं चलती है, वो
अब अपनी मर्जी से
सोचती हूँ... मैं
प्रिया घर को चलाती हैं ?
या... घर प्रिया को चलाता है ?
खैर... फर्क क्या पड़ना है,
कोई... किसको भी चलाए,
बस... चलना चाहिए....घर,,
और हाँ, चल भी रहा है...सब कुछ
मैं भी.... तुम भी... और घर भी...
सब कुछ तो दिया है माँ बाबूजी ने
ढ़ेरो साड़ीयाँ, गहने,
साज श्रृंगार के सामान,
सिर्फ.... नहीं दिया ,वो एक.... विकल्प !
कि नहीं चलता.... तो ना चलने दे,
नहीं कहा कभी...
रुक जा, जरूरी नहीं है चलना चलाना,
हाँ... नहीं है विकल्प
और....चल रहा है,
घर....प्रिया का,
हाँ.... प्रिया चला रही है घर को..!

House wife - the most abused role in the tamil cinemas, apparently, in the recent times. To show women power - they abuse this role a lot. They portray that women who belong to the kitchen are not treated right and are forced to be slaves. But, really? Are all? A woman with a strong career is portrayed more stronger than the one who stays at home. Burdened with work that they're not interested in. (not all movies)

Have you seen happy house wives? They love hospitality. They'll feed you like anything. You can walk to their place anytime and come back fed well. They love to cook. They enjoy getting up early and cooking for the family. Their mind will keep churning ideas and recipes to make food interesting.

They're powerful too. I know of children who respect and love their mom more than anything in the world. They rule our hearts and world and of course, our stomach.

Looking after the family might not fill your pockets but heart. To work or not is your decision but if you choose to stay at home, you deserve a lot of respect and love and you'd probably get it from us without fail.
