We have curry leaves plant in our home; Suddenly, leaves started getting adorned with whitish pigment. Slowly branches also getting themselves decorated with white dots. Hence, I cut down all the affected branches of our small plant. I'm in a doubt, whether it stood high proudly waiting for the spring or it stood still in deadly lifeless oblivion. With time, leaves started growing, making them look more beautiful than before. More lively than before. The thrill I feel seeing it growing in front of my eyes is beyond any explanation. Seeing a thing, gaining its life back, after being on the verge of losing its life, is pretty pure bliss.

This period made me question myself, isn't this how my life is; which I'm choosing to act blindly during the process of growing but not before that.

One of my lockdown routine
To pluck curry leaves,clean and green
As ordered by mom everyday
I asked her- is it that necessary anyway?
Oh yes! Oh yes! She replied
It's flavour and aroma cannot be denied
The versatile leaves with a magical power
Full of nutrients and appetising flavour
A little punch of these citrusy leaves
And the heavenly taste that one receives
The secret superstar of every food dish
Starting from rice to chicken and fish
Now it's not less than an obsession
The ingredient at topmost selection
The rutacean our very favourite
As it makes the food tasty and delight.

They are the secret ingredient in most dishes.
Without them the flavor is lost.
But when you eat, they're always kept aside.!
Whatever maybe the dish, wherever may you go.
Be like the curry leaves, always add value.
No one can take your flavor away.!

You have been with me since I entered my new home,
You gave me your leaves to make sambhar and adai dosas,
Khaman dhokla won't taste good without you,
For coconut chutney also I took your leaves.

You nurtured us so we got attached to you,
Evenings on holidays I used to look at you,
Admiring your green leaves ,
Seeking solace of peace from you.

Suddenly the lighting from cyclone Nivar,
And you were gone ,
The gallery seems empty without you,
I will always miss you our Queen Curry Tree ,
Wherever you are stay happy always .
