when nothing else gives solace.
And it never disappoints.

and it listens
while it embraces me,
tight,
yet allowing me to breathe freely,
till my now empty heart plays a soft rhythmic beat
that puts me to sleep.

तब से बागों में तितलियाँ नहीं मिलीं

लाख नाम आया तेरा मेरी हर दुआ में
मगर खुदा को मेरी अर्जियाँ नहीं मिलीं

अंदर की उदासी चली भी जाती शायद
पर हवा को खुली खिड़कियाँ नहीं मिलीं

रहे राह से मंज़िल तक धूप ही धूप में
राहों में कहीं भी बदलियाँ नहीं मिलीं

इस बार इंतज़ार हर बार से ज़्यादा था
लेकिन दिसंबर को सर्दियाँ नहीं मिलीं
