Once, in a while,
Did I get surround
by faces that seem judgemental.
Taking me to a different world
where the air is uneasy,
comments so loud,
Fingers pointing me out!
Gazing masques from the crowd.
I feel some lust, some frown
A want, to let me down!
Sweat runs over my body
As I take my steps.
Underneath do I remember
Ma used to warn
not to go alone
at a place full of strangers.
But! Ma knows,
this place is no strange,
It's the same where,
I used to play on with my ex-friends
It's the place where I grew bold
and young.
It's the place where I was happy, once.
It's my home place, my very own.
Just, the place for me
in their eyes has changed,
that is what seems strange.
