OVER-EAGER — A SHORT STORY

At midnight, I message you, 'Call me?' on Instagram. A minute passes and there's no reply. Trying not to seem over-eager, I unsend my text. A few minutes later, I complain how I'm so sleepy that I can't keep my eyes open and sneak in an innocuous 'Goodnight!' A minute later, I follow it up with a smile. Not the emoji one. But the heartfelt one. The one like this: :)

You reply only in the morning, 'Good morning! Sorry, I slept early last night. I didn't even realise when.' I immediately see your message, double tap and leave a heart. 'Oh, you're up so early! Hope you slept well,' you write. I send, 'I did,' typing with my sleepy eyes, hard to keep open after the long night. A minute later, there's another heartfelt smile. Only this time, it's on my sleeping face.

While sleeping, we are unaware of the fact that what will happen next but still the faith is alive of the next sunshine .

और मेरी भीगी सी मुस्कान
मन करता हैं बस ज़िंदगी वही थम जाए...!
