The shadows cut deep lines,
Waving the day away,
Buried below the ground,
Two pairs of eyes close for a hug,
Waking the conscience of dead city,
Which turns a blind eye to thousands of rotting corpses,
Every single day,
Untill this moment.


Love shall flow,
Despite all the cursing,
Washing the city of its sins.

As each metro rushes by,
A slow fade,
Be still in the head.

Me: This coming from the girl who thought "LGBT" meant Lettuce, Guacamole, Bacon and Tomato.

Friend: Which is exactly why I stopped going to Subway.

Me: smh *sigh*

Could I cross that way!
Through the subway?
I asked to myself;
While I sat near to my brown bookshelf.

As I knuckled my fingers in anxiety;
The ear drums vibrated pulling me to overanxiety.
This made the ambience around silent;
Though I tried to become resilient.

Even the commotion on the streets couldn't distract me,
My five senses insisted this was an abstract made within me.
But the news published in the newspaper still scared the daylights out of me;
Made me smell that there was no more a pillar of courage coming out of me.

It was no more a game to be played like a clown;
Because I knew I had to walk that subway all alone.

Sometimes, I visit the subway station where I last bid adieu to you
and where you first met me.

I struggle for few minutes,
To shake off the monotony,
Bleeding from subways,
Of black bows and teeth,
Flashing prophetic signs,
To unheeding eyes,
Till its time,
For the train to arrive,
Maybe leave,
I become a shadow,
I am silent.

Subways Give Birth

Subways crawled below the city
Huddled in embrace
In unknown faces and black outlines.

The bowels of earth
Cold, moist
Offering guard
Mother-like giving birth
To children of future.

Geography plays the cruel sport
Somewhere it accumulates dread
Churns the fear
Others to hope, huddled affection
And rivers of love.

A beautiful path can change your mood and change your destiny too.
