Metals and Nonmetals

All the elements on the earth are of three types,
They are metals, nonmetals and metalloids.
Metals are hard, lustrous, malleable and ductile,
Nonmetals are gaseous, liquid , soft or fragile.
For Conducting electricity and heat, metals are known;
Nonmetals don't have these properties except Graphite alone.
Metals are hard but some are very soft.
We can cut with a knife, sodium or potassium rod.
Cesium, Gallium, and Mercury, have a different nature,
These three metals are liquid at room temperature.
Metals are found on the left side of the periodic table.
Extreme right is reserved for the Gases, inert or stable.
Along a zigzag path between metals and nonmetals,Metalloids lie,
Just right to the Metalloids, the nonmetals always cry.
Metals are ninety two, metalloids are only six.
Nonmetals are twenty , remember, if you need.
Metals form cations by losing one or more electrons.
Nonmetals form anions by getting electrons.
Metals generally form basic oxides, and are reducing agents,
Nonmetals are oxidizing, they form acidic oxides, students!
Metalloids have the properties of both metals and nonmetals,
They are often used to make good and reliable semiconductors.
