the windy morning at the bank of a tiny river in my grandparents' home...
Sky darkening with clouds and loud roaring thunders with lightning far away.
Birds looking for shelter, Nature dancing in rage, feet touching the cold water, wild wind giving a chill, hair all dishevelled, and I falling in love
with the storm.

Sitting near the river side...
On a full moon night...
Waiting for my soulmate ...
To flee together tonight...

আজও তোর কথা ভেসে আসে
পুরনো সেই সুরে
তবে তোর হৃদয় থেকে রেখেছিস
আমায় অনেক দূরে।

Dark brown is the river,
Golden is the sand.
It flows along for ever,
With trees on either hand.

Green leaves a-floating,
Castles of the foam,
Boats of mine a-boating----
Where will all come home?

On goes the river
And out past the mill,
Away down the valley,
Away down the hill.

Away down the river,
A hundred Miles or more,
Other little children
Shall bring my boats ashore.

।। ফটকি নদী ।।
কুয়াশা ভরা কলকাতা ছেড়ে
ফিরেছি নিজ গাঁয়ে,
ফটকি নদীর তীরে ।
ডাকে সেথায় সকাল -বিকেল ,
দোয়েল,শ্যামা আর বুলবুল ।
টুনটুনি পাখিরা ঝুনঝুন করে নাচে;
ডুমুর কিংবা শিউলি গাছের ডালে ।
প্রজাপতি ডানা মেলে ওড়ে,
পলাশ কিংবা চাঁপা ফুলের মাঝে ।
ঘাস ফড়িং লেজ নাড়ে -
ঘাসের ডগায় বসে।
গাংচিল ওড়ে ডানা মেলে,
মাছরাঙা ভাবে বসে ডালে ,।
শিকার হবে চোখের পলকে।
বহুদিন পরে ফিরেছি নিজ গাঁয়ে
ফটকি নদীর তীরে।

When the river is deepest it makes least noise..

Waiting for you,
standing at the riverside
watching the flow
the strength of the water
the struggle of her journey
witnessing, the truth of life
with the flow of water
with its each touch
I realise,
the water isn't the same.
Every time
it flows; never stops
it flows to reach her destination
the convergence of her life
the start of her new life
flowing with the happiness
to meet her end
And concomitantly,
the sea awaits to meet
to meet his love
a part of his life
the sea and the river
one,the start; other,the end..
just you and me..

अब तो प्रवाह भी उसकी तरफ ले जाने को तैयार है ,
बस आकर कोई धक्का लगा दे मुझे।
