•Paper Boats and I•

I float my paper boats
one by one in joyous
monsoon rivulets
through the rising waves
through the subsiding ripples
along the puddle
I dream of me,
sailing in those paper boats
in the sea of
metaphors and similes
only to be lost
slowly.. steadily..
into oblivion

You and me,
like paper boats,
float on the shallow water
outside the corridors of the society.
We dance along with the rain drops
entertaining everyone until
our dreams to reach the ocean of life,
corrodes us from within.

It's getting repetitive,they say,
how my verses breathe the same,
but they don't know,
just how many blades stuck down my throat slash my own truth at it's very origin,
they don't know, just how many suicide notes I have turned into paper boats and led them to oblivion,
they don't know what it is like to live and what it is like to just be alive

Amidst the smooth landings of paper Planes to deep sinking of paper boats we enrouted the world, innocence outpaced us when maturity never mattered.

My tranquil mind
is a distant memory,
just like
optimistic paper boats
in joyous
monsoon rivulets.

The serene, unbroken rhythm
of a simpler life
eludes me.

-

My paper boats couldn't sail or
withstand the heavy rains anymore.
I saw it drowning. My childhood too.
and growing old felt like a curse all of a sudden.

If boats could sail long enough
To make me feel journeys are
Endless, why do we need paperboats
In life's novel?

We love ends.
Endlessness boils down to uncertainty.

Have written my poetry
On pieces of old paper.
From them I make
Paper planes at times.
When happy they fly
Seeking you as messages.
Which the wind kiss you by.
But, these day...
They turn up being
Sail boats...
They float on river
Only get lost in salty seas.
Not being able to find you..
This one will sail to its destiny,
Soon...

Drowning in your thoughts,
I've left me somewhere
behind,
Come save me from,
like you used to
with those paper boats.

I wrote him poems in
My heart, he broke them.
So this time, I chose paper.
He made them boats,
In tears they float..
