Compelling my eyes,
to stumble and brain,
to get allured.

A mystic silence follows me
Above those footsteps
I think of my daily bread
And why I greed on excess
A thought further opens the casket
Closes it with me inside
Of what use was the overindulgence?

The sellers look for fools,
And the buyers oblige them.
The capitalist advertises a paradise,
The consumerists give in to temptations,
Automatically making the rich richer,
And themselves robotically more foolish.

I played the spoiled bratty son of the haves
and took life for granted, became an idler:
knew only to receive, lived for my cares.
Now, I’m naught: just a wasted “ do-timer”.

All I needed was your time and tough love
which you replaced with things superficial.
Now you are gone, I’m a ship without rudder
drowning in dreams: yet none beneficial,
Mom and Dad.

Anna stumbled upon a mysterious pencil while cleaning out her late grandfather's attic. Intrigued by its golden hue and unfamiliar markings, she decided to test it out.
