Progress seems to have become synonymous with anxiety, worry, the exaggeration of petty achievements, and the false praise and approval of society. Trust me, earning a handsome income, getting applauded by people, and winning the approval and praise of others is far easier than achieving peace of mind, a healthy body and lifestyle, and the ability to relish the small things in life. And if you aren't working toward these things, no matter what excuses you have for avoiding them, your life will be shaken apart beyond your imagination.-

आज जब दिल्ली आया तो कुछ साथियों ने बताया कि उनके मकान मालिक ने उन्हें एक महीने के अंदर फ्लैट खाली करने का नोटिस दे दिया है। कुछ दिनों पहले जिस कॉलोनी में मेरी बहन का फ्लैट है वहां भी एक प्रॉपर्टी डीलर ने एक छात्रा से बदसूलकी की थी। कारण ये बताया गया था कि छात्रा किसी वजह से रूम खाली नहीं कर पा रही थी और प्रॉपर्टी डीलर उसके ऊपर निरन्तर दबाव डाल रहा था फ्लैट खाली करने को लेकर। दिल्ली में अक्सर मैंने देखा है कि मकान मालिक किरायेदारों के साथ बहुत ही बुरा बर्ताव करते हैं। अक्सर वो ऐसा बस कुछ पैसे बढ़े हुए मिल जाए इसलिए करते हैं। ये उनका हक है इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं मगर जिस तरह का सलूक किरायेदारों से किया जाता है वह कहां तक जायज़ है यह प्रश्न तो उठता है। इस विषय पे गंभीरता से विचार होना चाहिए। थोड़े पैसे के लालच में किरायेदारों के साथ अमानवीय व्यवहार सही नहीं है। ये मकान मालिकों के घमंड को भी दर्शाता है। कुछ नियम और सख्त कानून प्रॉपर्टी डीलरों के ऊपर अंकुश लगाने के लिए भी आने चाहिए। ये अपने कमीशन के चक्कर में ना जाने किस हद तक गिर जाते हैं। किरायदारों को भी अपने अधिकारों के प्रति सजग होना पड़ेगा अन्यथा ये क्रम चलता ही रहेगा। खास तौर से महानगरों में।
