राजाओं ने बनाए अपनी प्रेमिकाओं के लिए मकबरे और ताज,
तेरे प्रेम की परीक्षा लेनी है मुझे आज,

कुछ ऐसा चढ़ा शहर का रंग उस पर
इमारतों की भीड़ में वो पत्थर हो गई..

चढ़ा न है उस पर रंग शहर का
बस देख कर पत्थर दिल वालों को,
वो खुबसूरत दिल वाली भी
दिल से बंजर हो गई।

प्रेम की अभिलाषी
स्त्रियों को जब
नहीं मिल पाता
प्रेम रूपी हार,
वो नहीं अकड़ती
किसी ठूँठ की मानिंद
वो बन जाती हैं
किसी प्राचीन किले की
दीवार पर लगी चित्रकारी...
प्रेम की भागी स्त्रियाँ
बन कर रहती हैं
सुंदरता की अमूल्य एवं
अतुल्य मिसाल पर
बेजान और धूल खायी हुई..!

Love cannot be caged in monuments.
So when I die please don't built a monument in my memory.
Instead love me a little more, I'll be alive in your love for ever.

खंडहरों में हर भटकने वाला
विरह में मरने वाला
दुखी आत्मा नहीं होती,
वो Architect भी हो सकते हैं,
जो case study के लिए निकले है।

They see me in ruins.
Dilapidated, crumbled, buried in cobwebs.
They glance at me with disdain.
They pity me with contempt.
They visit me and leave.
They leave me and forget.

The Sun rises beyond the horizon in your eyes.
And beams through the cracks
glinting on monuments behind the facade.

Little do they read the history of my story.
Little do they behold the augustness of my ruins.

तुम ना हो, तो ये शहर शमशान सा है..!!
