हे छिपकली! तुम क्यों हर बार आ जाती हो?
क्यों इस डरपोक को और डराती हो?
कभी बाथरूम में तो कभी रसोई में आ जाती हो।
ज़रा-सी आहट से तुम भाग जाती हो।
कहीं ना कहीं जाकर छिप जाती हो।
एक से दूसरी दीवार पर तुरंत पहुँच जाती हो।
कभी कॉकरोच तो कभी मक्खी खा जाती हो।
क्यों हमारा सुख चैन ले जाती हो?
क्यों गर्मियों में वापस आ जाती हो?
मन में एक विचित्र प्रश्न छोड़ जाती हो।
तुम खुद डरती हो या हमें डराने आती हो?
हे छिपकली! क्यों मुझ जैसे नादान को सताती हो?

When I was a kid,
I used to fear the lizards most.

And now when I m an adult,
I fear negative humans,The most.

I thought I was all alone,
like a stranger
walking amidst the streets,
on a winter night.

The cool breeze rushes into me,
and I involuntarily close my eyes
to its calmness, surrendering myself.
Oh! Indeed, that moment brought
chills down my spine.

The shattered soul
was no more chaotic,
'cuz the silence trumpeted a
soothing melody.

Even as I am writing this,
there is a lizard
making noise,
as if it was eavesdropping
into my musical silence.

Ah! So I have an audience
listening to my silenced music.
Looks like I am not alone,
when I look around.
