As a child,
She feared that
there was a monster
hiding in her closet.

Years later,

rather they roamed
freely on the streets
every night.

Every evening they stood at that corner of the street under the flikering lamp post with their fancy bikes and cheap mentality.
Passing vulgar comments, stalking at times,
'A game they called Fun'.

Till one day, when that girl in blue jeans, and a stole covered face, afraid and embarrassed crossed in shame, facing away from her brother standing in shock with his,
'Fun Loving Friends'.

Some people in silent mode.
When stared at my back
Commenting in few secret code.

was her only mistake because it's hard
to live as a poem where people are
still learning the alphabets.

उसे मर्दों के ईमान से डर लगता है,
इंसान में बसे शैतान से डर लगता है,
दफ़न होने का खौफ़ न उसको मौला,
उसे मर्दों से भरे शमशान से डर लगता है।

समाज से मिले फ़रमान से डर लगता है,
घर से निकलते अनजान से डर लगता है,
दोस्तों उल्टे क़दम चलता है देश अपना,
बेटियों को जब हिंदुस्तान से डर लगता है।

जिस नज़र से नज़ारे उसके हुस्न के देख रहे हो,
नज़रों से उन्ही, खुदा से नज़रे मिला पाओगे?



जिस ज़बान से मासूमियत को उसकी छेड़ रहे हो
ज़बान से उसी, खुदा को जवाब कोई दे पाओगे?
