to take care of

I cared for it
like my own child,
feeding it a concoction of
sun and water,
of light and air.
Slowly, it spread its wings,
climbing my balcony railings.

I look at it & now it’s all around me,
money money everywhere,
and all I do is laugh wondering
how much you hate capitalism
but love this capitalist.
