The city woke up
Still covered in the fog of yesterday
The debris of memories
Lay on its chest, cold and heavy

With warm hugs and kisses
Started the new year's new day
Jitters spread in toughened bodies
Uncertainty going steady

As the day went by
The sun and clouds started their play
Lighting the best laid plans
Lifting those which felt crazy

I watched all this unfold, silently
Without much to really say
Collecting my last year's leftovers
Ready to move on, patiently

यह भी डर है कि कोई फिर जुदा हाे जायेगा
चान्द की रौशनी यह कह रही है
कि फिर उनका काेई साथी जुदा हुआ है
जाे गुजरे साल कही खाे गया है
सबकी नजरें आते इस साल पर ही
दिलाे में उम्मीद ताे हाेठाे पे दुआ है
सबके दिल की मुराद हाे पुरी
ऐ मेरे दाेस्त मेरे दिल की दुआ है ये

2020 was a gem!
This was the only year that actually taught us to love and live like there's no tomorrow, to focus on the blessings that we already have, to be grateful for each day, to not lose hope and be optimistic all the time, to face the extreme and unexpected challenges that life would throws at us at any moment and to realise the fact that we perish, nothing is permanent!

I thank 2020 for changing our perspective towards life! We owe it a Big 'Thank-You'
