I'm going to make this intro real quick.
Hi, I'm Sara Jothi.
I don't stick to a particular thing to write on
but if you have to shelf me, I'd like for you
to tag me a 'storyteller'. That's what I enjoy
most. And if a story is what excites you
then I may have a chance impressing you.
I'm a lover of beach, silence, love and
family. My profile reeks of it all in English
and Tamil. Smell it?

Check out the caption for my series
hastags, it'll make your search
a little easy.

like a warm soothing breeze
she touched my soul
hurling my sadness away

"I'll be there in about...mmm an hour max" I say to my sister.
"Don't you want to freshen up or something? You are going to meet him straight? " she asks.
I don't even think about it, "Yeah, no problem. Just get there soon you three. Do not trap me alone. I swear I'll disown you" I say, to which she chuckles and sing songs "Alright.. alright." I then disconnect the call.
I can't believe I gave in to this meet. A month ago in our cousin's wedding, my sisters harassed me into saying yes to meet a guy. I didn't expect them to carry it through though. When they did, I said I'm not meeting him alone and demanded my sister to play chaperone since she got me in this soup to start with. Also, I don't trust myself with him.. nor him with me! We have a lethal attraction that sings through the room whenever we share it in silence. For a rational freak as me, I don't believe anything good to come out of such...such madness.

~ A month back
"You didn't even ask his name yet, stop refusing blindly" my sister cuts me mid-sentence. "I don't want to get married now" I whine, I hate that I stomp my feet like a three year old and hope my saree to conceal my stupidity.
My sister rolls her eyes and I know I have a lecture coming.
"May I have a word?" I still and so does everybody. His voice sails through, I feel his heat behind me and turn so fast like I'm burned.
God forgive me for wanting to knock a stranger, I can't help it. I want to wipe that smug smirk off his face, of course, that's because he sees me go awestruck. Oh well, I don't miss his body go taut seeing me either. But, between us two he does a good job of playing it cool.
I don't have to turn around, I just know. My sisters left. We don't talk, I'm not aware of the time but, I'm hyper aware of him. His eyes, that tic in his jaw, his fists opening and closing, also, that scar that peeks from his collar. When I try to look close he clears his throat. I don't, I'm half confident I lost my voice.
"I was going to ease you to this, but.." he pauses, then "I don't want to get married yet" he says, and I swallow. Why's that choking me?

I want us to stand for each other,

If he's surprised to see my sister with her family present, he doesn't show. All I got is a blink. He's flawless, I know my sister and brother in law approve. I stubbornly avoid their eyes. Forget them, my niece is so taken. If not her mum, she'll press me to marry him. When he gets a call from work, he apologizes for cutting the meeting short. "Walk me to my car" he says, that's not a question. I walk with him out and when a child comes dashing at me he pulls me aside but don't let go my hand after. I don't bother tugging, I like it in his hold. Once to his car he pins me to the door, his arms on either side. Oddly enough, though we both denied the idea of marriage to each other we did nothing to dissuade our families. "So?" he asks. My mind still churning with the past month, I blurt the least expected question. "Are you not ready yet?" I try not to cringe and he don't try stopping his laugh. His eyes dance in humor and with something that sends chills down me. He opens the door and sits me in, gets around and starts driving out.
"Wait, my sister"
"Call her and say yes, we're getting married" he says.
"What now?" I gasp. He laughs again and I smile. We're getting married!

You were like
a whirlwind.
You sucked me in
only to throw
me farther
away.

This night feels like a whirlwind
Of memories
Good old and fresh new
And somehow I
Am swirling around them
Like a fallen leaf
Unable to find my roots

She, a whirlwind of words,
a vibrant tapestry of conversation.
He, a still pond,
reflecting the quiet beauty of the world.

Can this vibrant river find solace in the tranquil lake?
Will her lively current disrupt his peaceful depths,
or will her gentle murmur stir within him
a newfound appreciation for the symphony of life?

Perhaps, in their contrasting rhythms,
they may find a harmonious balance,
a perfect blend of stillness and motion,
of silence and song.
