Khaab me na sahi, neend se pehle meri yaad k baad hi woh soyi hogi.

Ahbab k qarb me maine yahi ek baat seekhi hai,
Usne bhi kisi tareeq ke kone main apne aansu ko peeroye hogi.

Mera dil dukha aur main hazaar aansu rohya,
Meri maanind na sahi, par fursat me Qaraar toh unse bhi khoyi hogi

Mere dard-e-dil ko koi samjtaa, toh phir kisi ko gila na rehta harf-e-muhabbat Se
Muje kya maloom, maine kis kis samandar main khud ko dooboya hoga

Mai apne fan-e-naqsh-e-nigari k charchy kyun karon, kyun sunaau main apne Afsaany sabhi ko,
Mujhe maloom hai woh kisi aur ki ho k bhi mere hi khayalon main khoi hogi.

Intezar-e-mehboob ki yaad me ek aur shaab ab dafan karta hu,
