There is this narrative that popular culture sells us that teaches us to take pride in loving inspite of getting hurt. It uses the terms always or forever very easily and the one in pain thinks they might stay in that pit for life. But no, no big amount of time is forever. Forever is not 4 years or 10 years... People get better. People heal. It is okay to accept that you once felt that deeply, all your feelings are valid. Now feeling better does not change your intensity of how you felt it.
