Rain of November
Who does want rain in November?
May be to clean the polluted air of your city
You may need some rain to drench
May be it's difficult to breath there!
My daughter stays there too
It's been long since she is working in a factory!
But I don't want rain in November.
I am worried about cutting of my crops
from my paddy fields.
Now a days, it's difficult to get
labours here, to cut the crops,
I don't want to sell my peddy fields.
May be some day, my grandchildren will be back
Making my paddy fields green again !
I don't want rain in November,
I am worried about my crops !

November rain,
an evening from a story,
the urge to share
your favorite song
with someone;
the urge to be explored,
to be known.

I am feeling a sense of melancholy,
observing the impermanence of phenomena around me.

Just now, a sweet lullaby,
broke my sleep,
Laying in bed,
realised the familiar hymn,

- Rain,

nature's cradle song, woken me up to sleep peacefully again.

Title: "November Rain"

my tears are
like the rains of november
when I cry
people remember,
the first time they looked out of
their windows and when it rained,
in continuous chatter of the sky;

november they remembered
now, ambered shades
of poetry.

As I listen to Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen”, my thoughts revert to that November when love came crashing into my life. It’s another thing that I was too young to know about love.

It was chilly that day. My best friend and I were heading back home from school, when he came towards me, a senior boy, held out his hand and said smilingly, "We know each other but haven't really said hi, so, hello." Of course I knew him. Nothing could have been more embarassing than that he was in fact the elder brother of my classmate, the boy with whom I had to sit with in class. “Yes, hi,” I said and shook his hand reluctantly. Our hands were cold but I was surprised by the warmth I felt in that moment. We started talking every day after school was over and a few days later he told what he had been meaning to tell me all this time. That he liked me. And just like Taylor sings in her song, “When you’re fifteen when somebody tells you they love you gotta believe them,” I believed.

The November rains were late again. The gulmohars had long fallen off of their high perches. The dhols of Dussehra had silenced, and the Diwali lamps were all washed, put in sacks, and loaded back to attics, when we first met.

We've come a long way since then. Endured the Northern winds that you absolutely hate. Laughed with each other, and been the shoulders to cry upon. Trust me love, the sun will rest your cold toes soon. The gulmohars will shine a brighter red than blood.

And when the sun has shone its brightest, and gone to rest behind the clouds, will you share the rain with me?

November's rainclouds, its sanctuary.
Slowly it reveals its pretty face.
Ready to waltz the wintry night.

Dear old November,
Do you still listen to the minstrel's intoxicating folk echoing through your bleak evenings? Or are you under the blanket early, like the lovebirds next door? I miss your unplanned drizzles soaking me thoroughly in to a chilly verdant dream.
I hope you'll write me back; you were never too cold to ignore me.
With love,
