घर के बड़े बच्चे,
सदा बड़े होने का फर्ज अदा करते रह जाते है।
घर का छोटा सदैव फर्ज निभाते रह जाते है।
मगर इन सबमें, बीच वाले बच्चे कहां याद आते हैं।
हमेशा जिद्द करते करते बड़े हो जाते हैं
न कभी बड़े बन पाते है, ना छोटे बन पाते हैं।
बड़े को सम्मान, छोटे को प्यार
मगर बीच वाले कहा खो जाते है।
बड़े बच्चे पापा के लाडले, छोटे वाले मां के लाडले,
इन सब में बीच वाले, कहां किसी को याद आते हैं।
बीच वालों के हिस्से में केवल संघर्ष ही आते है।
बीच वाले को कहां कोई समझ पाते हैं।

वो तुमसे बड़ा है, वो तुमसे छोटा है,
ये सुनकर चुप हो जाते है,
बड़े छोटों का मन रखते रखते ,
अक़्सर मँझले बहुत कुछ सह जाते है।।

बडों का कुछ बड़प्पन , छोटों की कुछ नादानियाँ,
ये समझकर चुप हो जाते है,
बड़े छोटों के बीच ये दरार भरते भरते,
अक़्सर मँझले ज़िम्मेदारी तले दब जाते है।।

बड़ो की सेवा और छोटों के प्रति फ़र्ज़ के नाम पर,
ये सबकुछ करते जाते है,
बड़े छोटों की उम्मीदें पूरी करते करते,
अक़्सर उपेक्षित रह जाते है।।

बड़ों का आदेश, छोटों की ज़िद कहकर,
ये हर एक चीज़ कर जाते है,
बड़े छोटों का मन रखते रखते,
अक़्सर अपना मन न रख पाते है।।
