MY KITCHEN STORY
We all have personal memories of kitchen. We all know what modern kitchen is, right? So, i thought not to write about it. Let me take you to my village, 20 years back in time when i was a little girl of around 6 years. Walk with me and I'll show you how it used to be.
We had a open kitchen in a vast courtyard. My grandmother used to cook on chulha (hearth) while whole family settled on charpoy (cot) chatting amicably around her. We used to have food not on dining table but on the same place in a cool air. During festivals, i used to make delicacies with them. Relations are close-knitted in villages. Whole family will sit together and make sweets instead of buying them from shops. There was a different kind of joy in it. It is still nostalgia-inducing!-
It is really quite a funny story how I tried my first attempt at cooking an omelette. It was early morning, mom had gone for shopping and no one else was at home. As I hadn't had breakfast I decided to begin my first experience as a chef by making an omelette. Sure I had seen dad to do it. So I know the basics. chopped the onions on the work surface just I had seen chefs do it. Then came the tomatoes. This time I chopped my fingers too. It took me two or three attempts to crack the egg and open into the bowl. Soon, I was running all over the kitchen, searching all required spices and that cooking spoon. The omelette was sizzling in the pan. It was a complete disaster. The kitchen was a complete mess. My mother always encouraged me to try things out and cook. It’s easy to cook food but it’s damn freaking difficult to make a delicious one.

The daughter was gifted
a kitchen set,
while the son got
a doctor's set as a child.
Today,
The same daughter is
the best doctor in the hospital,
And son turned
out to be the best chef.-
