इकलौती मुगल रानी, जिसने राज किया,
सिक्कों पर भी जिसका नाम छपा पाया गया,
सलीम यानी कि जहांगीर की आखिरी बीसवीं पत्नी रहीं "नूर जहान",
जो शेरनी की तरह डटी रही, सारी रानियों में अलग रही इनकी पहचान,
अफगानिस्तान की बेटी ये, मुमताज़ महल की सौतेली सास रहीं,
फिर बाद में ये लाहौर में अपनी बेटी लाडली के पास रहीं,
शाहजहां की अपनी सौतेली मां से ज़्यादा नहीं बन पाई,
शख्सियत इनकी इतनी खास रही, कि इनपर इतनी किताबें व फिल्में बन आयीं....

Mohabbat mein kuch toh baat hogi
Tabhi toh jahangir ne
chandi ke sikko par
Ek side khud ka naam
Or dushri side begum nur jahan
Ka naam likhwaya tha.

जग के इस जगीर से मुझे तेरी आरजू है,

Asmat Begum, mother of Noorjahan (aka Noor-i-mahal), is considered to be the first who produced rose perfume.
Jahangir and Noorjahan, though great artists and rulers, as everybody knows, both look not so nice as far as their character and cruelty they performed are considered.

Idea of building Taj Mahal was of Jahangir "salim" the father of Shah jahan, Jahangir shares with Shah jahan then after shah jahan builts Taj Mahal for his wife mumtaz. Actually Jahangir wants to build it for anarkali but he then cancelled it because akbar did not give the permission to built any thing for women who were not of their Standard.

Strange thing comes to know after centuries about Taj Mahal .
