As a teenager,
my daughter often expressed
her love of airplanes over hot air balloons.

Sitting on the terrace one evening,
I asked her why,
to which, sheepishly she replied,
"Ma, I don't wanna be a hot air balloon
carrying a huge crown of self doubt
which prevents it from soaring high above.
I wanna be an airplane,
flapping my wings,
bursting the clouds of self doubt,
rising above my insecurities."

Over the years,
how she became an airplane
from a hot air balloon
for me, is still a Raaz.
But looking at her,
flying in the sky of her dreams,
has filled my heart with Naaz.
