Why are nightmares called "night" "mares"?

Do they run through our mind like horses, free in the wild?

If so, then I would like to let the mares of the night run through my mind.

They might be scary and beastly, but atleast they are free and unbidden.

She runs wild
With wolves and horses.
Full of confidence and strength.

The dark horses of his dreams
Gallop at heightened speed,
The waves rising, foaming
In equal fervour of the pounding hooves,

The dream shivers down his spine,
he jerks but not awake yet,
She stalls the dream at the base,
With a light pat,
Waiting for him to calm down.
But the horses kept galloping
The whole night.

Some on trek
others trusting horses
and the wayward horsemen,
eased by the back pushers
and the muscle healers,
the terrain made tranquil
by the chanting of the faithful,
we reached the cave of the Holy Goddess.

Made light of our burdens
as we bent and crawled in
the watery cave and stood
beholding the Goddess blessing all
with Her protective benignity.

Came down on hardy horses'
late midnight maverick ride
Some tripped and so did the riders
but not a scratch was held.

All exclaimed "Jai Mata" for
they knew for sure The Mother's kindness.

But isn't only the hope of riding one day,
Keeping all us beggars alive?

In Club-and-Ball sport like Golf,
Players use different Golf club to hit Golf balls into a series of holes on a course. Just like a student has to go through different phases(Ups&Down) to achieve his/her goals.

We all compete like horses in life's race but we often forget that our racetracks are different
our jockeys are different
and we all have the same destination, no matter the pace , we are going to reach there because it's never actually a race

Lovelessness was their fate.

why they were left on the island.
The touches caressing them,
whispers of love words
were already forgotten,
like the others live on the island,
They stayed as wild horses
until their death...
