कभी कभी मैं सोचता हूं, वो लोग कैसे रहते है।

जब पूस की रात में ओले बरसते हैं
वो आसमान को नीली चादर समझ के ओढ़े रहते हैं।

जब जेठ की दुपहरी में अंगारे दहकते है
वो नंगे बदन खेतों में मेंड़ो की मरम्मत करते हैं।

जब सावन भादो में घनघोर बादल गरजते हैं
वो अपनी झोपड़ी में बैठे, चूल्हे में आग को तरसते हैं।

जब गंगा यमुना कोसी में जल के स्तर बढ़ते हैं
वो ही अपने घर बार सहित, इनकी धारा में बहते हैं।

इतना सब कुछ वो कैसे सहते हैं
कभी कभी मैं सोचता हूं, वो लोग कैसे रहते है।

यह उनके लिए है जो

- प्रयास किए, लेकिन फिर भी दूसरा रास्ता अपनाना पड़ा
- युद्ध में गए पर कभी घर नहीं पहुंचे
- अपने पिता से कभी नहीं मिले
- अंधेरो में बड़े हुए
- जिनका दिल टूटा

मुझे पता है कि जिंदगी में संघर्ष होना कठिन है।
लेकिन, तब तक 'घिसते रहो' अपने आप को,
जब तक आप शीर्ष पर न हों।
