The Dreamcatcher

Silently hanging
over my cradle,
you feed me peace
through your ladle.
I feel your embrace
nesting me,
keeping away
the dreams eerie.
You sing to me
through weaved thread,
a much needed rhyme
for my cluttered head.
I sleep unafraid
& in rapture,
lulled by visual melodies
of my dreamcatcher.

You make me feel safe and secure
keep my fears and demons away
with beads and bells, little lights
and feathers.. strings that bind
all the goodness, love and care
shooing my nightmares away
You are my personal
Dreamcatcher

And sometimes I can't sleep at night.
The demons inside, coming out
in the dead of the night,
make me paralysed
and I stare at the silhouette
of the fan on the ceiling, too blank.
When I close my eyes,
I'm flooded with nightmares,
reminiscent of bad times,
fears that still dwell in my mind,
enough to bring me to my knees,
yet a single thought of you,
your love that I feel around me,
becomes the ray of the sun
piercing through my darkest nights,
to bring me back up to my feet.
You are now my personal dreamcatcher.
