Darkness

Is something I befriended, as a kid.
Never, did it scare me.
Naturally, being alone bothers me not.
I ain't scared of Ghosts, devils
But the dogs...Ahhh!
In case it growls at you,
Know this.

On a hot summer evening
My mind was spinning
With a plethora of thoughts
I decided to take a walk
Finding a platform to talk
To myself and my heart
Before I was torn apart
By a conceptual maze
That creates a gray haze
Beyond which I wished to see
To rediscover the real me
So I took the long walk
Along the garden's path
Something eerie n stark
Shook me out of ruminating
Realizing I was being chased
By a pack of barking dogs
I walked fast then ran hard
Till the barks were barely heard
Scary it was would be understating
What I experienced this hot evening
