If only you could hear my silent screams,
I am quiet, only because you are asleep,
tangled in the web of your happy dreams.
Why can't you love me like mere mortals do?
their tales don't inspire but taint my heart-
the now barren land where flowers once grew.
I wish there were a way, to climb up this wall,
it feeds on distance and words left unsaid,
Rising every second just to aid my fall!
Your ways of love don't oft reveal much,
soft words and sparklers don't fill the need,
that's left craving for a sweet kiss or touch.
I tell you what I want, in every possible way,
you nod at times - throwing a quick stitch,
over my torn heart, hardly hearing what I say.
Life is too short and I am not ready to die,
without learning to live or knowing true care,
I have lived in the dark and I just want to try
and spend time under the light for it's only fair.
